If you attended the Jamestown Arts Center’s 7th Annual Summer Soiree, you would have been seeing red. A lot of red. With the “Red Hot!” theme, guests were asked to wear their most blazing attire during the opening of JAC’s summer exhibition WORD: Text in Contemporary Art. After walking the red carpet, the more than 325 guests mingled with art in all mediums, such as Lesley Dill’s piece Emily Dickinson and the Voices of her Time. While dancing under a tent hung with red and white lanterns and twinkling lights, attendees enjoyed the taste of summer with signature strawberry cocktails, a raw bar and luscious chocolate hazelnut mousse. In addition to the auction and other activities, guests chatted with Dill during an Artist’s Talk and with JAC Exhibitions Director, Karen Conway, during a Curator’s Talk.
