We’re so excited to share our big win from, Tuesday, September 27, 2016! Our exhibit, “Nina A. Baugh: In Search of a Studio of Her Own” won HISTORICAL EXHIBIT OF THE YEAR at the 1st Annual Dorrys Awards. This incredible exhibit featured previously unseen portraits by Nina A. Baugh (1908 – 1981), and was the brainchild of Nina’s granddaughter Lydia Biddle Cotter.
We partnered with the amazing people at the Jamestown Historical Society who brought in artwork and ephemera that lent historical context to the exhibit. The family provided home movies from the 1930s to further contextualize the work. Our Exhibitions Director, Karen Conway, worked with Biddle Cotter to unearth more connections and context, and Terry Vose of Vose Gallery came to speak amidst Nina’s paintings.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this exhibit truly spectacular and to the Law and Order Party for recognizing and honoring this extraordinary exhibit!
