Site-Specific Dance Performance
Saturday, June 2nd 7:00 pm
Fusionworks is Rhode Island’s oldest modern dance repertory company and has been presenting work throughout New England for thirty years. The company’s tag line is “Different is Good” and concerts are an exciting roller coaster ride of varied perspectives, movement, and emotional impact. This performance at the Jamestown Arts Center continues in that vein with the presentation of three dances.
To headline the concert, Artistic Director Deb Meunier in collaboration with the Fusionworks dancers, will premiere a new dance entitled Tell Me Another Story Please. This dance is a response to the work of visual artist Constance Slaughter, whose exhibition Four-and-Twenty Blackbirds will be at the JAC during this time. Audience members can experience both the two and three dimensional work of Ms. Slaughter and the movement interpretation of her work in Ms. Meunier’s dance created expressly for this showing.
