Philippe Lejeune’s facade installation, which is site specific and incorporates a window overlooking the gallery, recalls the former shingled beach shacks of Jamestown. Utilizing hundreds of industrially fabricated wood shingles hand stained with images of tree trunks, the artist creates an intriguing dialog about modern man’s struggle to distance himself from nature, whilst using nature itself as the shield.
Don’t miss Philppe’s artwork at the 5th Annual Summer Soirée on Friday, July 3!
